Dan was born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Hoboken, NJ.  At an early age, Dan's grandfather died and it was shortly after that time that he made the decision to become a funeral director.  After graduating from Hudson Catholic High School, he attended and graduated from Mercer County College with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in 1976.  Dan completed his funeral service education at the American Academy McAllister Institute (AAMI) of Funeral Service in New York in 1977.  He served his internship with  Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken.  Dan became a New Jersey licensed funeral director in 1977.  He made the major decision to return to New Jersey City University (formerly Jersey City State College) and further his education.  Dan received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Criminal Justice.  He also furthered his education at Seton Hall University and has a Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.)  Dan has worked at several funeral homes in the New Jersey/New York area as a funeral director.  Recently he and his wife, Jacqueline, purchased the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home.  In March 2013, Dan received the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice and in October 2017, he received the Certified Pre-planning Consultant (CPC) from the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).  Dan is also licensed to be a funeral director in New York, Pennsylvania and Florida.

Jacqueline Simone

Office Manager/Owner

Jacqueline was born in Jersey City and raised in  Hoboken.  She graduated from Saint Peter's University (formerly Saint Peter's College) with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.  She and Dan met in 1974.  They were married in 1976 and had their first child, Jennifer, who was born in 1980.  In 1981, along came a son, Daniel, to join the family.  She assists her husband, Dan, in the many everyday tasks of owning and operating the Funeral Home.  Many families will meet her when calling on the phone or by coming to the door.  While she is a major asset to our funeral home, Jacqueline is unlicensed and not qualified to make funeral arrangements, embalm, or conduct funerals.
