William Munoz, 90, died at his residence on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Munoz was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 1954 settling in Manhattan, NY. He later moved to the Bronx. The family moved to Edison in 1994.
William read the Daily News and the NY Post everyday. He thoroughly enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. He was a devoted NY Giants and NY Mets fan. He worked as a short order cook in various restaurants in New York and New Jersey.
William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Fanny. He is also survived by his son, William Jr., and his wife, Julia of South Bound Brook, NJ, and a daughter, Awilda Santana, of Clark, NJ. There are four grandchildren: Andre Ortiz and his wife, Katie, Alysa Santana, Enrique Torres and his wife, Yorbelid, and Kistina Schieferstein and her husband, John. He is also survived by great grandchildren: Gabriel Lopez, Leo Ortiz, Ariella Schieferstein, Eli Schieferstein, Camila Torres, Valentina Torres, and Amelia Torres.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish (St. Paul the Apostle RC Church), S 6th and Raritan Avenue, Highland Park, NJ. He will be interred at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
