Vincent Murphy, II

Vincent Edward Murphy II, age 58, of Highland Park and Sea Bright, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at his home in Sea Bright.

Born in Summit, he lived in Basking Ridge for several years and graduated from Basking Ridge High School Class of 1974. Vince has lived in Highland Park and Sea Bright for many years.

Vince worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department serving as the Fire Chief from 1993-1994.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Vincent and Eleanor Murphy and a sister, Judith Bernhardt.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Williams Murphy, two sisters, Kathleen Wutkiewicz and Patricia Steege and her husband, Bruce. Vince is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, 195 Little Albany Street, New Brunswick, N.J. 08903.
