Saverio Ambrosio

Saverio Ambrosio, age 82, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida formerly of Middletown, N.J. died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at his residence. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Ambrosio lived in Middletown, N.J. before moving to Port Saint Lucie, Florida in 1995.
He was a butcher and worked for A&P Grocery Stores in New Jersey for 30 years.
Mr. Ambrosio was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Saint Lucie, Florida and was a member of the BPOE in Port Saint Lucie.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. Saverio Ambrosio was a man who lived for his family - whose greatet pleasure in life was spending time with his extended family; eating, drinking, laughing, and telling stories. Saverio was someone people trusted and could rely on, whose honesty, integrity, and genuine human decency was a gift to everyone who knew him. He was deeply loved by his family, not simply because he was Pop, but because he was always himself - every day of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Angela Ambrosio, Port Saint Lucie, sons, John Ambrosio and his wife Jacqueline Hanoman Mata of Muncie,IN; Michael Ambrosio and his wife, Gerri Callahan of Highland Park, N.J.; Richard Ambrosio of Neptune, N.J.; daughter, SueAnn Fitzpatrick, and her husband, George of Mechanicsville, VA; brother, Michael Ambrosio and his wife, Ann, of Barnegat, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Mark, Sean, Patrick, Isaac, Joseph and Matthew.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, June 4th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family followed by the burial at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, N.J., In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
