Ruth E. Demarest, age 90, of Highland Park, died peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2018 at AristaCare at Cedar Oaks Care Center in South Plainfield, N.J.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ruth lived in Highland Park for most of her life before moving in 2012 to South Plainfield, N.J.
Ruth worked as a registered nurse and spent many years caring for children.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, John, a son, Wayne, and a daughter, Deborah.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Diane, her grandchildren; Erik, Kristen, Cory, Brittany, Brett, Sarah and Alex and her great-grandchildren; Jaime, Jessica, Jordan, Max, Sophia, Julian, Gillen, Michaela, Alyssa, Olivia, and Alora.
In keeping with her wishes, services will be simple and private. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
