Rosario Giarllo, age 94, of Highland Park, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home.
Born in Highland Park, he was a lifelong resident. Rosario had worked many years in the warehouses at the Raritan Arsenal. After his retirement from there, he had worked for the public works department for the Borough of Highland Park.
He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Giarllo and two sisters, Phyllis Walskie and Mary Giarlo, and his parents, Francesco and Elena Giarlo.
Surviving are four sisters and two brothers. Rosario is also survived by a niece, Debra Lembo, three great- nieces, Amanda Lembo, Deanna Lembo and Kristina Lembo, a great-nephew, A.J. Lembo and their father, Armand Lembo, three great great-nieces, Aubrey Rettig, Zoey Rettig, and Malani Rettig and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 19. 2018 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. Viewing hours will be from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Thursday prior to the Service. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp., N.J.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Road, Suite 203, Roseland, N.J. 07068. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
