Robert Julius Marcik, Sr., age 82, of Highland Park, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home.
Born in New Brunswick, he resided in Highland Park for most of his life. He was a life member of the Highland Park Volunteer First Aid Squad. Mr. Marcik was a communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church where he had also served as an usher.
Mr. Marcik had worked as a sergeant for the Rutgers University Police for many years before retiring in 1991.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Julius and Helen Marcik, his wife, Nancy, in 2007 and a grand-son, Robert Marcik, in 2010
Mr. Marcik is survived by his children; Joan Calo and her husband, John, Nancy Carille and her husband, Dan, Robert Marcik II and his significant other, Jennifer, Janet Marcik, Karl Marcik, and Joyce Marcik; nine grandchildren, Jenifer Calo, Daniel and Tara Carille, Tanya Pruitt, Kelly Roberts, Ashley and Kyle Marcik, Justin and Mitchell Marcik, four great-grandchildren, Genevieve Pruitt, Robert Marcik, Jeremy A. Pruitt, and Tayven Fisher, and a sister, Jean Edwards.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) Highland Park. Interment will follow at
