Robert E. Fitzmaurice, age 87, of Highland Park, died on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Connecticut and Rhode Island before moving to Highland Park over 50 years ago. For many years, he worked as a furniture refinisher. He was a member of the deaf community and loved automobiles, driving, fishing and he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Most of all, he will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years; Rosemarie Costa Fitzmaurice of Highland Park, two daughters; Cynthia Nigro (Jerry) and Donna Fitzmaurice (Nick Hamersley) all of Long Island, NY and a grand-daughter, Christina Nigro.
A viewing will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A funeral service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the conclusion of the viewing.
