Walton, Richard Francis, age 70, died on October 7, 2020 at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ surrounded by his family.
Richard was born in Lakewood, NJ on June 2, 1950. He graduated from Toms River High School. He joined the US Navy and served on the USS Sperry, a submarine tender, during the Vietnam War. He enlisted in basic Submarine School and the fireman course. Richard received an honorable discharge and returned to the United States.
Mr. Walton worked in several mechanical apprentice jobs and later joined Ken’s Plumbing in Edison where he stayed 20 years as a plumber’s helper. He later served with Quick Check as a shift manager for 10 years.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Ruth Walton, and a brother, Michael Walton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Ann (nee Andras) and his son Richard “Ricky”. He also has a sister, Sherron Orbesen of Texas.
He was a kind, gentle soul who was liked by many and got along with everyone. He frequently talked about his trip to London. He was a loving husband and father.
Visitation will be at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ on Thursday, October 15, 2020 between 4 pm and 6 pm. A prayer service will be held at 5 pm. His cremated remains will be inurned at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ on Friday.
