Peter Maggio Obituary

Peter Paul Maggio, age 86, a lifelong resident of Highland Park, died at home on August 14, 2009 of complications of advancing age. Peter enlisted in the US Navy during World War II and served aboard an aircraft in the South Pacific. He worked for Triangle Conduit Cable Company of New Brunswick. Upon retirement he became a member of the Pioneers' Club of Triangle. Later he worked for the Highland Park Board of Education and A-1 Auto Parts in Piscataway. He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Highland Park. Peter was a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 6306, a 4th Degree Member and Trustee.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Victoria Maggio and seven brothers; Anthony, Patrick, Philip, Joseph, Thomas, Carmen and Frank, Jr.
Peter is survived by his wife of 62 years. Mary (nee Giacobbe), a daughter, Anna Marie, at home, and a married daughter, Victoria Chevalier, a son-in-law, Gerald, and a grandson, Neal of Highland Park. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews living in NJ, Florida, and California.
