Olimpia Micheli passed away on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022. She was 94years old. Born in Morrone, del Sannio, Italy on September 27,1927, Olimpia came to the United States in 1947 and settled in Highland Park. Olimpia was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her children. She was a loving Nonna whose greatest joy was her grandchildren, Michael Gallo, Paul Carrier, Mikaela and Carl Adler, and Montgomery, Olivia, Stella and Jack Draper. Olimpia cherished her nephews, cousins and all her family and friends. She will be missed by many. Olimpia was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and rarely missed watching a game. She enjoyed reading the paper every morning and kept up with the news on CNN.
Olimpia was predeceased by her husband, Annibale Micheli, her daughter, Marta Micheli, her mother and father, Cherubina and Angelo Ioffreda, her brother, Dr. Pasqualino Ioffreda and her sister Maris Ioffreda. She leaves behind her daughters, Rita Carrier of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Marina Micheli of Atlanta, Georgia, Angela Micheli of Alexandria, Virginia and Carla Draper of Highland Park and her eight grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 25th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. The Funeral Liturgy will be Saturday, February 26th, at 9 a.m. at St. Theresa's R.C. Church, Fox Road, Edison. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
