Nerina Favretto, age 97, passed away at her home in Toms River on Sunday morning surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Favretto was born in Umago, Italy and came to the United States as a young child.
Nerina was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Guerrino Favretto, a brother Mario and his wife, Elvia, a sister, Augusta Giurgevich, and a brother-in-law, Angelo.
She is survived by her son, Julian and his wife, JeanE, of Edison. Nerina also loved her grandchildren: Christian, Brian, and Heather Favretto-Gonzales. She also has five great grandchildren: Nathan, Jonathan, Brianna, Brooke, and Brady. Nerine has a brother, Emilio Giurgevich and his wife, Silvia, and a sister, Marcella, all residents in Italy. She also had a special fondness a niece, Marissa, grandniece, Elena, and a great grandnephew, Flavio.
Friends and relatives can pay their respects to the family on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 between 3 pm and 7 pm at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 10 am at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish (St. Paul the Apostle RC Church), Raritan and S. 6th Street, Highland Park, NJ. She will be interred next to her husband at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery, Hopelawn, NJ.
