Michelle Lee Valenta

Michelle Lee Valenta, 53, died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Miss Valenta was born in Somerville, NJ and lived in Highland Park, Parlin, and settled in Edison, NJ.  She was employed by Stop & Shop since 1989 as a Bakery Manager serving the Highland Park store and also served the Westfield, Watchung, and South Orange locations.

Michelle is survived by her longtime companion of 24 years, David Andrew Sgroi, two sons:  Brandon Sgroi and Justin Sgroi, two brothers: George Valenta and Matthew Valenta, and niece and nephews: Georgie, Anthony and Vicky.

Michelle loved "Dr. House" when it was televised several years ago and enjoyed arts & crafts.  She also spent time reading books on her Nook when not working or caring for her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday, January 29, 2024 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, Nj between the hours of 5 pm to 7 pm.

Parking is available immediately behind the funeral home or on S. Adelaide Avenue.
