Fasciano, Michael, 96, of Barnegat, NJ, formerly of Weehawken, NJ passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after having lived a long, beautiful life.
Michael was born in Molfetta, Italy and immigrated to the United States at an early age settling in Hoboken, NJ. He attended A.J. Demarest High School. Soon after, began his career as barber working for several local establishments. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the proprietor of Mike’s Barber Shop on Ninth and Willow Avenue. Throughout his years, one could hear his scissors clicking and the chatting voices of family & friends, and the many clients he attended to over the years.
After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Barnegat and enjoyed taking cruises with family and day trips to Atlantic City. Mike lived with independence and vitality well into his 90’s driving, attending to his home, and enjoying card games with his friends at the clubhouse.
Mr. Fasciano is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Cecilia (nee Zanna), and his children: Lucrezia Fasciano and her partner Olympia DePinto of Springfield, NJ, Marie Zito and her husband Rocco, of Hillsdale, NJ, and Sam and his wife Laura, of Middletown, NJ. There are six grandchildren: Jennifer, Robert, Jillian, Michelle, Matthew, and Amanda. He is also survived by two great grandchildren: Sienna and Austin. He is predeceased by his parents Lucrezia and Saverio Fasciano, and his brothers, Vincent and Anthony.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of the Christian Burial at Saint Ann’s R.C. Church, 7th and Jefferson Street, Hoboken, NJ on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 10 am. He will be laid to rest at the Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ immediately thereafter.
