Betty was born on May 4, 1926 in New Brunswick, NJ to Mildred and John Gavin. She graduated from Saint Peter’s High School in New Brunswick in 1942. Betty was a dedicated early elementary school teacher, spending her career in the New Brunswick public school system, finishing at the McKinely School as a first-grade teacher. Betty loved to travel, was a connoisseur of fine foods, played the piano, and enjoyed the opera. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them traveling, playing games (especially dominoes and blitz) and teaching them the finer elements of dining out!
