Mary M. Reisert, age 92, of Somerset, died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.
She was born in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1917 and lived in Highland Park before settling in Somerset 56 years ago. Orphaned at an early age, Mary and her sister, Eileen, were raised by Postmaster John M. Corey adn his wife, Cecelia, her father's sister, in Saratoga Springs, NY. She worked for an attorney in Saratoga Springs for ten years before her marriage to R. William Reisert. Mary also worked as a secretary to the first principal, Elizabeth Borden, of Irving School in Highland Park, starting in 1953 and worked successively for seven different principals, retiring in 1998 at the age of 81.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, R. William Reisert in 2008 and her sister, Eileen, in 1949. Mary is survived by her loving son, Karl, at home, and several cousins in Saratoga Springs, Thomas Totten, Patricia Totten, John Totten and Margaret Totten.
