Maria Giarlo

Maria “Mary” Giarlo, age 89, of Highland Park, died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Mary Anne Hale Pavilion of Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison

Born in Highland Park, she was a lifelong resident. Mary had worked outside the house while enjoying music, dancing, and going to the theatre, but her true passion was caring for her family, especially her father.

She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Giarllo and a sister, Phyllis Walskie.

Surviving are her siblings; Rose Giarlo, Rosario Giarllo, Frank Giarlo, John Giarlo, Sarah Rizco, Lucy Rizco and Lillian Oliveri. Mary is also survived by a niece, Debra Lembo, three great- nieces, Amanda Lembo, Deanna Lembo and Kristina Lembo, a great-nephew, A.J. Lembo two great great-nieces, Aubrey Rettig and Zoey Rettig, and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22nd at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. Viewing hours will be from 9 – 11 am Friday prior to the Service. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick, N.J.
