Margaret Kovics Obituary

Margaret “Babi” Kovics, age 90, of Sayreville, NJ passed into eternal life on June 7, 2024 at HMH Raritan Bay Medical Center.

Margaret was born in Tapolca, Hungary. She left Hungary in 1959, to join her husband Frank to pursue the American dream of a better life.

They first settled in New Brunswick, NJ. Within a few years of saving their hard-earned money they bought a house in Highland Park, NJ where they resided for many years.

Margaret was first employed at the RCA Corporation for several years. She and Frank wanted to be entrepreneurs and took a chance in buying their own businesses. They bought several in their lifetime, The Uptown Bar, The Hideaway Night Club, Morgan Wine and Liquors, along with owning several racehorses over the years. Margaret also spent her last twenty-five years working at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick where she formed many lasting friendships to this day.

Margaret enjoyed every aspect of life and was friendly to all. She was kind, caring, fun loving, hardworking, generous and a strong-willed beautiful woman.

She was a true fashionista. She loved to shop especially for clothes, shoes, makeup and jewelry. Her favorite perfume to wear was Chanel No. 5. She would often compliment with the phrase “that looks so beautiful on you".

She enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to dance and drive in her convertible for many years. Later in life she loved to crochet and make blankets, gloves, tops, scarves, skirts, and hats for whoever commented I would like to have one of those. She also enjoyed drawing beautiful free hand flower portraits. She received so much joy in giving to others.

Most of all she enjoyed her family and granddaughters. She touched the hearts of many and was loved by all.

She is pre-deceased by her husband, Frank Kovics (2013), her daughter, Gabriella Keating (2020) and many relatives in Hungary.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Walker and her husband Steve Walker, three granddaughters, Valerie Simonyi, Violet Simonyi and Amanda Walker, son-in-law Andrew Simonyi, and several relatives in Hungary.

She will be truly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, June 15,2024 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ between the hours of 10am and 12pm. Parking is available behind the funeral home or on S. Adelaide Avenue.
