Obituary

Luis Hernando Loaiza Canas, 64, of South River, New Jersey was the victim of an auto accident while on his bicycle on May 24, 2022 and succumbed to his injuries at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick, NJ.

Luis is survived by his sons, Julian and his wife Nini Johana, and Fernando and his wife Fidelina, and a daughter, Gina.  He was one of ten children.  He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Bernando, Gildardo, Hubert, Ivan, Virgelina, Fabiola, Consuelo, Amparo, and Lulelly.  Luis has four grandchildren: Ryan, David, Samuel, and Gianna.  He also has many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Loaiza was an avid bicyclist.  He emigrated from Columbia 32 years ago and settled in New Jersey.  He resided in South River for the last 4 years.  Luis was an auto body shop mechanic.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, New Jersey between the hours of 1 pm and 5 pm.  Parking is available in the parking lot behind the funeral home.
