Lillian Icasiano Manansala, age 86, of Highland Park died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
She was born in Baliuag, Bulacan in the Philippines and moved to New Brunswick, N.J. in 1978 with her husband, Narciso (deceased) before moving to South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
Lillian was a long time library administrator for the Manila Public Library System. She had a Certificate of Statistics from the University of the Philippines. She was very active in the cursillo movement of the Roman Catholic Church during the 1970’s and 1980’s serving as Rectora in various cursillo classes. In New Jersey, she was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Parish and St. Mary’s Church, both in New Brunswick.
She is survived by a son, Roberto and daughters, Aida and Maria Paz, two sisters, Rosario and Corazon, both of Houston, TX, 9 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
Viewing hours are from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter the Apostle Parish, New Brunswick. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum in Piscataway, N.J.
