Laura Jean Evans, 62 years, quietly and peacefully passed away on January 3, 2023, at her home in Highland Park, New Jersey after a lengthy illness and frequent hospital stays.
Laura Jean was born in Raleigh, NC on May 14, 1960, to the late Ollie Thomas Evans Senior (also known as O.T.) and the late Shelby Jean (Journigan) Bosch. She lived most of her life in Raleigh, North Carolina and in Houston, Texas in her early years. For the past 12 years she has been together with her LOVE, Joseph Maginn, and moved with him to Highland Park, New Jersey in March 2019 to start a new life there and to help care for his aging parents.
She is survived by her loving partner, Joseph Maginn, her brother, Ollie Thomas Evans Junior (also known as Too Tall), her dear aunts, Isabelle J. Corbett (Michael) and Ann Williams (Dennis), her stepfather, John C. Bosch (Denise), and by many beloved cousins living throughout North Carolina and Virginia.
Laura Jean was a stately, strong, and intelligent woman who lived on the edge of life and had many unique adventures and experiences. Her innate spiritual strengths grew mightily and became fully expressed in her new life that she and Joe built in New Jersey. These were recognized and much appreciated by all of her extended family and friends.
She was much loved by all who knew her ---and will be greatly missed.
A Maginn family memorial service and celebration of her life will be privately held for her New Jersey family and friends.
A graveside memorial service and inurnment will be held for her at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, January 26, 2023, at the Forestville Baptist Church Cemetery behind the church at 1350 South Main Street, Wake Forest, N.C. Attendees are invited to gather afterwards for a lunch at a place nearby.
