Kevin Jarlath King, son of the late Jack and Mary King, passed away after a short illness on April 11, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Predeceased by his brothers Mattie, Michael and John Joe, and sisters Mary, Christina, and Philomena, Jarlath is survived by his siblings, Gerry, Imelda, Teresa, TJ and John, and in-laws Patricia, Paul, Ina, Mary and Lily, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Jarlath was born June 3, 1935 in Tuam, Co. Galway, Ireland. An avid cross-country runner, he was a celebrated athletics star in his youth, winning one of the first road races in Tuam, as well as helping the club win the 1956/57 Championship. He emigrated to the USA in 1963, where he carved out a very successful career at Chase Manhattan Bank, rising to the rank of Vice-President.
A remarkably intelligent man, Jarlath had many passions, but the most significant was his devotion to his Catholic faith. He was a volunteer with Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Sunnyside, Queens, NYC.
He made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Ave, Highland Park, New Jersey. Parking is available behind the funeral home or on S. Adelaide Avenue.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 9:30 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 94 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
