Kathryn Donelon

Kathryn Koval Donelon died November 20, 2012 peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Sayreville, NJ, grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ and lived in Highland Park, NJ since 1947. An Honor Society graduate of Perth Amboy High School, she also attended Rutgers University College.

Kathryn retired in 1991 as Administrative Assistant at Rutgers University in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics after 36 years of service. Earlier she was with Herman Howard, CPA, CIT Corporation; Executive Secretary at the U.S. Government Signal Office at Camp Kilmer, and a Notary Public for 30 years.

She was a communicant of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Mary at Perth Amboy and a member of the Boyan Choir. In Highland Park she was a communicant of St. Paul The Apostle Church.

Kathryn was predeceased by her husband of 59 years-Peter Donelon. Also, by her parents Mary and Michael Koval, and four brothers: John, Stephen, Frank, Nicholas, and Joseph. She is survived by her daughter Janice Donelon Ballou of Highland Park, NJ, her son Wayne Donelon of Lenox, MA and his wife Denise, and three grandchildren: Peter Ballou and his wife Sondra of Highland Park, NJ, David Ballou of Oakland, CA, and Kathrin Donelon and her husband Eric Walther of McLean, VA.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 PM on Friday November 23 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday November 24 at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church Worship Site, Highland Park, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Saint Theresa’s section.
