Julia Spezio Obituary


Julia Spezio, age 83, of Highland Park, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.

Born in New Brunswick, she lived there before moving to Highland Park in 1956.

Julia had worked many years in various departments for the Borough of Highland Park. Later, she served as the secretary at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park. She was a communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church as well as serving as a eucharistic minister which included visiting the Parker Home and the McCarrick Care Center.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Anthony S. Spezio, in 2003 as well as her siblings, Matthew, William, Richard and Dolores Daley.

Julia is survived by her children; Jeffrey Sr. and his wife, Gayle, of Highland Park, Anthony C. and his wife, Cathie, of East Brunswick, and Joseph and his wife, Nicole, of Edison, and Celeste Cline and her husband, John of New Brunswick, four grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Stephen and his wife Jessica, Collin and Jocelyne Spezio, a great-grand-daughter, Eliana Spezio.
She is also survived by three brothers, Patrick Daley of New Brunswick, Michael Daley of South Brunswick, and James Daley of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, December 27th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 28th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) in Highland Park. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway, N.J. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
