Joseph Zimmerman Obituary
Joseph P. Zimmerman, age 68, of New Brunswick, died on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and his Master’s degree from Rutgers University.
He had taught in the English department at Rutgers University in New Brunswick for many years.
Joe will always be remembered for his willingness to help anyone who needed it and for having a kind heart.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Victoria Zimmerman, who died in 2003 and a brother, Robert Zimmerman.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Jean Hammond Zimmerman and two sons; Thomas Zimmerman and his wife, Giuseppa, of East Windsor, N.J. and Benjamin Zimmerman of Manville, N.J.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.at the Funeral Home. (www.jkfuneralhome.com)
