John W. Vitello, age 81, of Edison, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born and raised in Anita, PA, he graduated from high school in 1949. John moved to Highland Park, N.J. and lived there until he married his sweetheart in 1955.After their marriage, he and Grace lived in New Brunswick for five years before settling in Edison in 1960 where they have resided since that time. John was a communicant at St. Theresa’s Church in Edison.
He had served his country as an Army veteran during the Korean War.
John worked for 43 years as a mechanic for Personal Products Company before his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
He was pre-deceased by his parents; Alfonso and Stella Lento Vitello and a brother, Thomas Vitello.
John is survived by his loving wife, Grace Vitello, two brothers, Samuel Vitello and his wife, Eleanor, and Tony Vitello and two sisters, Lillian Vitello Frary and Catherine Vitello Kirsh.
Relatives and friends may call from 5-9 p.m Friday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, Fox Road, Edison. A committal service will follow at the Franklin Memorial Park Chapel, North Brunswick.
