Joan Roman

Joan Roman, age 91, of Highland Park, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Joan was born on August 31, 1923 in Patton, PA. In 1947, she married her childhood sweetheart and had lived in Highland Park for many years before moving to Dallas, PA last year.

Joan had worked as a registered nurse at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick for many years before retiring in 1982.

She was a former communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Roman in 2008, a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, a grandson, Stephen, three brothers and three sisters.

Joan is survived by her children; Stephen (NJ), Joanne Dickson (MA), Michele Pierce (PA), Thomas (MN), Mark (TX), James (TN), Faith Miller (NJ) and Stephanie Walker (PA). She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
