James V. Efinger, age 96, of Hobe Sound, Florida, formerly of Middlesex, N.J. passed away on Tuesday, August 12,2014 with his family by his side.
He was born on March 18, 1918 in Bound Brook, N.J. He was the youngest of seven children of George and Margaret Efinger. He served as a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by the family business, Efinger’s Sporting Goods. Jim was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Bound Brook, N.J.
Jim is predeceased by his siblings, George, Joseph, William, Frank, Grace Klein and Marie Hoey; his wife, Elsie; daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Bob Potocny. He is survived by his companion, Anita Samperi of Hobe Sound, daughters, Diane Efinger of Jupiter, FL, SharonWolin of Albany, NY; and Susan Liu;his grandchildren; Brian Letunder, Stephanie Devaney, Michael Letunder, Lisa Hengeli, Michele Heinz, Stephanie Szul, Lesley and Robert Blaser, Aaron and Drea Potocny, James and Jennifer Alaggio. His great-grandchildren, Courtney, Chase, Gunnar, Aidan, Ethan, Jude, Cole, Ava, Bella, Isaiah, and Sofia, and great-great grandchildren, Gabriella, Madison and Natalie and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing hours will be held on Sunday, August 17th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. N.J. A Mass Christian will be held on Monday, August 18th at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Middlesex, N.J. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, N.J.
