Herbert Wagner Obituary

Herbert J. Wagner, formerly of Metuchen, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2014 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He will fondly be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Herbert was born and raised in Chicago, IL before moving to Metuchen in 1957. For many years, he worked as a vice president at Johnson & Johnson. After his retirement, he resided with his beloved wife of 65 years, the late Jeanne A. Wagner in Sharon, CT and Sarasota, FL.; and Parker at Stone Gate in Highland Park.

Herbert was a dedicated volunteer throughout his life, including as an advisor to small businesses in Indonesia and at a mental hospital in New York State. In addition, to raising a large and loving family, he enjoyed classical music, theology and travel.

He is survived his children, Marilyn, Barbara, Thomas, Philip, George, Charles and Jeffrey and will be missed dearly by his 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd at the Catholic Community of St. Matthias Church, 168 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Somerset. N.J. A reception for friends and families will be held at Parker At Stonegate, 1421 River Road, Piscataway from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
