Roever, Gertrude (nee Boehm), age 84, died on Monday, March 4, 2019 surrounded by her family in Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.
Mrs. Roever raised her family in Deer Park, Long Island and was a registered nurse at Madonna Heights School for Girls in Wheatley Heights, New York before her retirement many years ago when she relocated to Fort Myers, Florida. Gert will be fondly remembered as the "neighborhood nurse" and her beautiful counted cross stitching.
Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Roever. They were married 31 years. She was also predeceased by her parents, Augustine and Margaret Boehm and brothers: Augustine Boehm, Phillip Boehm, Richard Boehm, and Thomas Boehm.
She is survived by her loving children, Robert Roever of Manhattan, New York and Howard Roever of Concord, New Hampshire and, Gertrude Melnick and her husband, John, of New Brunswick, New Jersey. Gertrude also has seven adoring grandchildren: Danielle, Nicole, Zachary, Matthew, Luke, Christian, and Stephen. She is also survived by her younger sister, Marjorie Doyle and her dear brother, Peter Boehm.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ between 9 am and 10 am. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am at Guardian Angels RC Church, 37 Plainfield Avenue, Edison, New Jersey. Her interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
