Genevieve Martha Lesko, 89, of Morganton, NC, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026.
Born in Middlesex County, NJ on November 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Orlo Waldron and Genevieve Martha Wright Waldron.
Genevieve was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She loved her church and her church family. Mrs. Lesko also loved children, especially working with and teaching them. In her spare time, she also enjoyed crafting.
Genevieve was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and was loved by everyone who knew her. Before moving to Morganton, she worked as a clerk at the Middlesex County Courthouse in New Jersey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, George M. Lesko of Morganton and Mark Lesko of Highland Park, NJ; daughter, Lorraine Grave of St. Augustine, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, George Howard Lesko; two daughters, Diane Feery and Victoria Ruggiero; and a brother, Thomas Waldron.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Steve Hoyt officiating. The committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2026 at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick, NJ with Daniel Simone officiating.
