Evelyn Schwender Obituary
Evelyn A. Schwender, 94, of Highland Park, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
She lived for many years in the Buffalo NY area, where she was born, until retiring to Seminole FL in the early 1970's. She moved to Highland Park several years ago.
She had worked as a bookkeeper for Flexlume Sign Company in Buffalo and later as a medical receptionist for Dr. Victor Anjo in Tonawanda NY.
Evelyn was predeceased by both her first husband, Raymond C. Getzin and her second husband, Clayton Schwender.
She is survived by her son, Donald R. Getzin of Highland Park; two step sons, James Schwender of Pittsford, NY and Charles Schwender of Glen Gardner, NJ; two grandsons, Jeffrey H. Getzin of Boonton Township, NJ and Andrew R. Getzin of Ithaca, NY and three great-grandchildren, Zoe, Lucy, and Quentin Getzin, all of Ithaca, NY.
Private cremation services were held under the direction of the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A memorial contribution may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
