Dorothy Rhein Obituary


Dorothy M. Rhein, age 95, of Highland Park, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home.

Born in Newark, she had lived in several places and moved 19 years ago to Highland Park. Dorothy was a communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish).

She had worked for Pabst Blue Ribbon Company in Newark many years ago and had worked as a secretary for Our Lady of Peace School in Fords and St. Pius X High School in Piscataway before her retirement.

She is survived by her children; Mary Ellen Nordstedt and her husband, John of Denville, N.J., James E. Rhein and his wife, Wendy Oeser of Westborough, MA, and Jacqueline Rhein of Highland Park, six grandchildren, Eric T. Nordstedt and his wife, Kellianne, Jeffrey E. Nordstedt and his wife, Rachel Babashak, Rachel Rhein, Joshua Rhein, Hannah Rhein and Noah Rhein, and four great-grandchildren; Cayla Nordstedt, Jonathan Earl, Jack Nordstedt and Ben Nordstedt.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, July 26th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 27th at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) Highland Park. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum, Piscataway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Central Jersey, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank, N.J.07701.
