Dorothy Donahue Obituary

Dorothy E. Donahue, age 82, of Highland Park, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the McCarrick Care Center in Somerset, N.J.

Born in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, Dorothy served in the United States Air Force where she met her husband, William, and they settled in Highland Park where she has lived for 55 years.

Early in her career, she had worked as a registered nurse at the Roosevelt Hospital in Edison and St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. Later, Dorothy went on to work at the Hurtado Health Center at Rutgers University in New Brunswick where she retired from several years ago.

Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband, William Donahue, in 1987.

She is survived by her children; Kerry Raslowsky and her husband, Scott Sr. and their children, Scott Jr.,Ryan and Jourdan Raslowsky, Erin Sorge and her husband, Jeffrey and their children, Devin and Jeffrey G. Sorge, and Sean Donahue and his wife, Kristine, and their children, William, John, and Kasey Donahue.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church Worship Site, Highland Park. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the American Red Cross to assist in the relief from Hurricane Sandy.
