Donald Meseroll

Donald William Meseroll, age 86, of Highland Park, entered into eternal life surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Born in New Brunswick, he graduated from the Highland Park High School and was a lifelong resident. Don had worked many years as a carpenter for the Union Local #1006. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War in the 29th Engineer Battalion (Topographic) on a Loading Craft Mechanized (LCM) in the Philippines from 1950-1952. Don was a Life Member P.C. at the Raritan River Boat Club in Edison. He served on the Board of Directors, was a past Commodore, and for many years served as the Chairman of the Bar Committee and Building Committee. He was the proud owner of a classic sailboat “Tuition Free” and could be seen sailing many days on the Raritan River and the Raritan Bay expressing his love of the sea. Don’s other passions included fishing, hunting and traveling. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Harriet in 2008 and by two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his son, Mark W. Meseroll and his wife, Susan of Monroe Twp; daughters, Donna M. Lane of Holmdel; Carol L. Long and her husband Wayne of Highland Park; Karen E. Sanford of Piscataway; and Mary F. Krueger and her husband Gerhard (Jerry) of Leonardo; 13 cherished grandchildren: Stefan Lane and his wife, Amy, Alexis and Brittany Lane; Grace and Victoria Long; Justin, Lauren, Kyle and David Sanford; Benjamin and Ryan Meseroll; and Christine and Cassandra Krueger. Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park. (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.nynjbaykeeper.org.
