He was a long-term employee of Doors, Inc., an active member of the American Legion Post 25 in Milltown, and the Disabled American Veterans. Family was his top priority and he enjoyed creating surprises and memories with those closest to him. A voracious reader, he enjoyed history, mysteries, and novels. He loved traveling with his wife, encouraging his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and creating a good time wherever he went. His jovial spirit, infectious laugh, ability to consistently show more concern for others than for himself, made him a favorite of friends and family. He was a man of his word and of opinion, who valued trustworthiness and honesty in others. His love for family and friends was expressed in the cards and notes that he wrote, the offers of help and assistance to those in need and the ability to create a good day just by being present.
