Dolores Reff Shamy passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023 surrounded by her loving family, she was 90.
Born, raised and a lifelong resident of Highland Park, Dolores aka "Dee" was the life of the party. She graduated Highland Park High School in 1951.
Dolores was past president of the Highland Park High School PTA. She worked as a school crossing guard for many years in the borough. She was also a Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother and on the Highland Park First Aid Squads Lady auxiliary.
Dolores worked for Chiropractor Dr Bruce Grossman for 23 years.
She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband Norman Shamy Sr. (2009). She is survived by her son Norman Shamy Jr. (HPFD) and his wife, Julie Shamy; a daughter Maureen O'Sullivan and her husband Roger O'Sullivan. Dolores is also survived by her grandchildren: Zachary & Kelsey O'Sullivan, Norman Shamy 3rd & Christine Kobrin & a great grandchild, Cameron Asher O'Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 S. Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, NJ on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 between the hours of 2 pm to 6 pm. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered at St Paul the Apostle RC Church on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10 am. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband immediately following the mass at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
Parking is available immediately behind the funeral home or on S. Adelaide Avenue.
