Danilo S. DeJesus, 73, of Maywood, died on December 4, 2023 in Rochelle Park, NJ surrounded by his family.
Danilo was born in Manila, Philippines in 1950 and came to the United States thirty years later in 1980 settling in Queens, NY then later moving to Dumont, NJ where he raised his family. He was a machinist by trade and in his later years became a driver. His career locally began in East Rutherford then later moving to Cranbury and finally retiring at UMDNJ in New Brunswick, NJ. Mr. DeJesus was a proud member of the Sequia Bowling team for several years. He was also an active member of LeCusa Association of Letran University, in his native Manila, Philippines.. Danilo was known to cherish his vehicles, especially his red Toyota Supra and the Nissan 300ZX.
Danilo was predeceased by his parents: Lorenzo and Purification (nee Sonza) and his sister Corazon and her husband, Jun.
Danilo is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Imelda (nee Martinez). There are nine children: Lynette and her husband, James of Las Vegas, NV, Jemy and his wife, Michelle of Longwood, FL, Gino and his wife, Michelle of Bergenfield, NJ, Ivie and her husband, Ariel of Moonachie, NJ, Jay John of Moonachie, NJ, JR and his wife, Francine of New York City, NY, Imee and her husband, Joseph of Rochelle Park, NJ, Daniel and his wife, Diane of West Hollywood, CA, and Irene and her husband, Ace of Maywood, NJ. Danilo is also survived by his brothers: Henry “Boy” DeJesus and his wife, Tita and Lorenzo “Jr.” DeJesus and his wife Nimfa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Corazon DeJesus. There are 12 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ between the hours of 5 pm and 9 pm. A Mass of the Christian burial will be offered for Danilo on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11 am at Our Lady Queens of Peace Church, 400 Maywood Avenue, Maywood, NJ.
His committal will be private. There are no funeral related activities on Friday, December 8, 2023.
