Claire Elizabeth McFadden

Claire E. Rausch McFadden, age 91, of Highland Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 at her home.

Born in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late John and Ada Van Kirk. Claire graduated from Highland Park High School and was a lifelong resident of Highland Park. She was a member and former chaplain of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #3117 in Edison as well as a member of the Highland Park Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) Highland Park.

Claire worked many years at AR Winarick in New Brunswick before retiring in 1976. She was an AVON representative for over 54 years.

She was pre-deceased by her son, William A. Rausch in 2014, her first husband, Robert Rausch in 1974, her second husband, William McFadden in 1997 and her sister, Jane Ringersma in 2010 and her son-in-law, Jerry Hogan in 2008.

Claire is survived by her children; Robert Rausch and his wife, Julia, Betty Hogan, and Roberta Ekstedt and her husband, Richard; a daughter-in-law, Susan Rausch, her 11 grandchildren; Jerry Hogan, Kelly Eastman, Joseph Rausch, Michael Rausch, Thomas Rausch, Stacey Courtney, Robert Rausch, Daryl Rausch, Jaime McPhillips, Kevin Hanlon and Lindsey Back. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, two nieces, Joyce Brown and Joanne Good. and a long-time family friend, Gary Gorran.

A private funeral service will be held at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
