Charles "Fast Eddie" Marthinson, Jr.

Marthinson, Charles E. “Fast Eddie,” age 77, died on Sunday, Jan 31 at Hackensack University MC after a brief illness. Fast Eddie was born in Passaic but was a lifelong resident of Wood-Ridge.

Mr. Marthinson was a member of the Military Police in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked at the Meadowland Racetrack as a Supervisor in the Maintenance Department and retired in 2010. Fast Eddie was a season ticket holder for many years to his beloved New York Giants.

Charles is survived by his beloved daughter, Kristin and her husband, Jason Borrelli. The light of his life was his two grandchildren, Brendan and Reagan. He is also survived by his sister, Carla Zolnowski and her son, Bernard.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kohler Funeral Home, 269 Hackensack Ave, Wood-Ridge on Wednesday, Feb 3 between 3 pm and 7 pm. A Catholic blessing will occur at 5:30 pm. Entombment will be on Thursday at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Please wear a mask when coming to the funeral home and observe social distancing.
