Betty Sommer

Betty Miller Sarah Sommer of Metuchen, N.J. passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after a brief illness.

Betty was the daughter of Anna and Same Manaker. She is survived by the love of her life, husband Marty Sommer and her beloved cousins, Oscar and Gloria Ross.

She enjoyed her career as a full-charge bookkeeper and with everyone she worked with at several New York and New Jersey businesses, including at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick, N.J.

She will be remembered with love by her niece, Patti and husband Steven Bettman and their children Alyia and Tess; her nephes, Randy and Shelley Ross and their children Leslie and Todd. She will be missed by her children Ann Saiff and Gary Brustowicz and Ann's children, Cara and Jayson; Bob Sommer, Clarie Sommer and Geoff Keochakian; and Ruth Long and her children, Rowan and Piper.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9th at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.

Shiva will be held at the daughter Ann Saiff's home, 6 North Pennington Road, New Brunswick, N.J. 08901 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9th and from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 10th.

A private burial will be held on Thursday on Long Island.
