Betty Lombardi Obituary

Betty R. Lombardi, age 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning, October 27, 2015 at Twining Village in Holland, PA. Born in York, PA, Betty grew up in Elizabeth graduating Battin High School in 1949 and continued her education with the Elizabeth General Hospital Nursing Program receiving her nursing degree in 1952. She worked many years as a nursing supervisor at Elizabeth General Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She moved to Texas and was very active in the Big D-56ers where she served as a past president. Betty was “Mrs. Claus” for ten years with a beautiful and well known family Christmas display at her son, Charlie’s home. It became so popular and respected in the area that people would visit and make donations which were given to the Rowlett Needy Children’s Fund in Rowlett, Texas. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Ira and Myerl (Warner) Smith, her son, Charles Lombardi, Jr., her sister, Wanda Wilson, her brothers, Robert, Ronald and Frederick Smith, and her two son-in-laws, John Parrinello and Raymond Barry. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart of 62 years, Charles C. Lombardi, Sr. of Holland, PA, five daughters, Jacqueline Cobilla of Old Bridge, N.J., Sheryl Comeau of Old Bridge, N.J., Angela Barry of Doylestown, PA, Donna Parrinello of Dayton, N.J. and Patricia O’Connor of South River, N.J., 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Viewing hours will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, November 1st at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park, N.J. A celebration of life service will begin at 4 p.m. (www.jkfuneralhome.com) In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Rowlett Needy Children’s Fund, P.O.
