Barbara Sarka

Barbara E. Sarka, age 93, of Edison, died peacefully on Friday morning, October 7, 2016 at her residence.

Born in Oakland Beach, Rhode Island, she lived in Edison for most of her life.

She was a communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park for more than 65 years.

Barbara was the daughter of the late James and Anna Josephine Elliott and was pre-deceased by her husband, Julius Sarka in 1988 and a son, Daniel J. Sarka in 1987.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gruber of Hillsborough, a grand-daughter, Kendra Richardson and her husband, Benjamin of Flemington, N.J., three sisters, Helen Garvey and Rita Andersen, both of Oakland Beach, R.I. and Joan Rosi and her husband, Vincent, of Cranston, R.I. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park. Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum, North Brunswick.
