Anna Marie Passalaqua

Anna Marie Passalaqua, age 103, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH formerly of Edison, died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Essex Healthcare of Tallmadge, Ohio.

Born in Johnstown, PA, she lived most of her life in Edison before moving eight years ago to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Mrs. Passalaqua was an avid gardener and loved sewing and reading. She was a member of the Edison Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Society. She was a former communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park. She was the mother of the renowned jazz guitarist Joe Pass.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mariano in 1970 and by her two sons, Joseph and David Passalaqua. Surviving are her children; Dr. Nicholas Passele ( Passalaqua) of Hilton Head, SC, Dr. Anthony Passalaqua of Hudson, OH and Bella Dodds of Little Silver, N.J. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Joanne Papinchak, Joseph and Nina Passalaqua, Nancyann Siegel, Georgene Mortimer, Lori Lynch, Dr. Susan Passalaqua, Anthony, Christopher and Gregory Passalaqua, Matthew Dodds and Dr. Colin Dodds. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) in Highland Park. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway, N.J. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, Highland Park.
